The power of giving

Another lesson from the inspirational book emphasized on the importance of giving. Yes, the more we give, the more we get. But the caution is that you should never give with the intention of getting else both, the charm and the fun get lost. The principle is simple and although, I have not really tried this on myself, works in the following way. If you sow maize, you will reap corn in harvest and you cannot get rice at all! Similarly, if you spend most of your time in criticizing and pointing out mistakes of others, you can expect the same to come back to you in some other form. Here comes the role of positive energy in the form of praiseworthy words for others, appreciating others, accepting and thanking others if they praise you and ignoring faults of others.

If we practice this one simple principle of only and only seeing positives in others and only appreciating them and if we pledge that we would not criticize others for 90 days, we will find a change in behavior of others around us. We shall be living a much satisfied and happier life in a relaxed environment.

I agree with this theory and intend to practice it in 2011. How about you?

Sometimes in life..

Sometimes in life we do not realize the importance of little things which come free. The loving smile of mother, warm hug of father, tips of grandmother, tricks of brother, fight with best friend; all come free! Take out time for your family, friends and even your hobby. Who knows, you may meet some one for last time today. Who knows it may be your last day today. Mind what you say, mind whom you say. Give respect, share love and stay in peace.

some times it happens – poem

sometimes it happens..
you need your loved ones..
and they leave you alone..
sometimes it happens..
you beg for mercy..
and people are cruel to you..
sometimes it happens..
you want to make up..
but be your bad luck..
others want to break up..
sometimes it happens..
you tell the truth..
but in spite of your tears..
no one trusts you..
sometimes it happens..
you appear bold to others..
but deep inside..
you need a hug..
sometimes it happens..
you want to cry..
but you don’t get a shoulder..
you don’t get your mother’s lap..
sometimes it happens..
you want to share..
but your best friend..
is not there…
sometimes it happens..
you get surprised..
as those support you..
who never did before..
sometimes it happens..
life is so strange..
you feel the gap..
but you cant help..
sometimes it happens..
there is so much enthusiasm around..
but you want to cry..
sometimes it happens..
you want to talk..
you want to hear..
but there are no calls..
sometimes it happens..
you are so bad..
and good people..
become bad to you..
sometimes it happens..
you want to write..
but words don’t come easily..
sometimes it happens..

The sun is red – Poem

The sun is red

The sky is blue

The eyes are wet

The tears are true

A storm had come

As usual unannounced

All property was drowned

All dreams were lost

The darkness frowned

The lights dimmed

But one fine day

The dark clouds split

The sun came out

And announced it loud

Things will be better

Better for the time being

For life is no monotony

But a rainbow of destiny

Dont be sad on the dark days

Be stronger to face the rains

For life is just like  a moving train

The philosophy of divine love : Who is God?

It is half past midnight and I am writing this post on a philosophical note. Every one in this world tries to show that he is a really kind-hearted and a nice person. Yes I am saying “trying to show or acts to be” and it includes all of us. The fact is that we are concerned only about ourselves. I want to ask all those who pity over the poor condition of others and feel bad thinking about the affluent class, only one simple question : “If you are so much concerned about others, then why don’t you also try living in those discomforts of the poorer and sacrifice your money, job, property and other worldly pleasures??” Na we never want to do that. It is difficult for some of us to even think about sleeping without an a/c and we show concern or sympathy towards those without a fan. I don’t really mean that you should not have kindness for others, but would like you to be abreast of the fact that we all by nature are selfish. The sooner we accept it, the faster will be the true realization.  The realization towards God – true surrender.

Who is God??

Who is God – is He the deity we worship daily? Is He the Jesus in Church? Is He an invisible power? Who is He? I tried finding answers to this question and based on my learning from the ultimate book for spiritual enlightenment – The philosophy of divine love (Prem Rasa Sidhant) by  Shri Kripalu Ji – The saint; I could imagine something about God. What I think is that we all are created with the help of atoms, molecules, muscles, proteins which took form of organs and formed our body. The whole process of creation is very systematic and amazing as seen in case of pregnancy. The point is that death is caused due to activity of molecules and after death also, our body starts decaying. The power which created us from molecules and made us dissolve into molecules again, we forget about and become busy in worldly pleasures. It is just like mother (God) giving us toys (nature/fruits/universe) to play with. Our main motive should be to worship God and have attachment only for Him. God loves us so much that He will accept us once we surrender truly towards Him.

What you may be thinking about God is your own viewpoint, but yes He exists.

Happiness lies within

We always have complaints – we did n’t achieve this in our life, we lost this, we have grief, we don’t have money, we are suffering, we have pain and so on. We are so dynamic with our mind that even metro rail seems to be slower than the speed with which our thoughts keep on fluctuating. We want to have vanilla ice cream at one point of time but while having the ice cream, if we see someone having butterscotch or chocolate, we think about having it next time. We keep on cribbing that we don’t have enough money, we are not rich enough to travel in Mercedes and live in bungalows. We simply have no idea about the stress faced by a multimillionaire businessman who can’t sleep properly. Are we not better than many wealthier people in the sense that we sleep with contentment. There are not many people who are fortunate like us to have loved ones. Have you ever thought about how a kid who has just lost his father feels on his birthday or special days when he would want his father’s support. Have you thought about parents who have just lost their only child? There are many people in this world who are in a much more critical condition than you are today. So stop complaining and thank God that you have loved ones- family and friends, thank God that you get food to eat, thank God that you are educated enough to be able to read this article, thank God that you are physically fit. There are always two ways to look at a situation : choose a positive side and all will be well.

Some small things which will keep you happy and calm :

  • Leave “I”
  • Practice “Us”
  • Help others
  • Prayers and Meditation
  • Respect other creatures (Humans, Animals and Plants)

Sometimes life does not move the way we want it to, it is better to accept the bad phase with dignity and continue the journey with a smile and a strong belief – “All will be well” .

Colors : What do they signify for you?

Colors hold a lot of importance in our lives. As kids we love using various colors in our drawings. We love wearing our favorite colors, we love buying the pillow covers/ bed sheets of our favorite colors. We spend a lot of time deciding the color of the car we are about to buy. Nature is also full of colors. Grasses are green, roses are red, butterflies are multicolored, crows are black, sky is blue, moon is white at night, sun is golden and so on. Colors also express emotions. Blue color means depression or sadness, red means anger, green is for health, white is for peace and so on. Life changes colors. Our good times are the bright colors and the bad times are the dull ones. It depends on us to choose the color we want in the canvas of our life. I know it was too short to read but I hope you understand the philosophy of colors.
